The Wayne County Community College District offers an array of student organizations that complement our academic and career programs and enrich life on campus and beyond.

Starting a New Student Club/Organization
Students can organize associations in collaboration with a full-time faculty or staff member and at least 10 student members. We encourage them to promote their common interest, provided such organizations are consistent with the provisions of state law. They are not contrary to the educational goals of the community college.
Participation in campus organizations is open to all students.
All applications to organize a club or organization must be approved by the District Office of Student Services and must meet the following requirements:
- Only currently registered WCCCD students may hold offices or other leadership positions.
- Student organizations cannot share the same mission statement, purpose, or officers with another student organization.
- All student organization officers must hold at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- A current full-time WCCCD faculty or staff member must be an advisor to a student organization.
- A returning student organization must register every fall semester.
- ALL RECOGNITION OF STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE WCCCD DISTRICT OFFICE OF STUDENT SERVICES.
The Wayne County Community College District has established policies related to student activities and the operation of clubs and organizations. All students are required to adhere to these policies and procedures. The student provides individual liability, health, and accident insurance coverage. The College accepts no responsibility for insurance for students who participate in student activities.

Staying Current
Each organization is responsible for ensuring that the District Office of Student Services records are kept updated. This includes informing the District Office of Student Services about any changes in contact information, officers, advisors, or organization essentials (such as statement of purpose or constitution). Until the records are updated, the previous officer may still be held responsible for the organization's actions.
NOTE: Only WCCCD full-time faculty and staff members may advise a student organization and recommend no more than three organizations concurrently.
