Disability Services

Student in wheelchair with fellow students

If you are a student navigating the process with a disability, WCCCD's accessible and inclusive learning environment is designed for your academic success. We offer services such as sign language interpreters, language interpreters, tutoring, visual aids, note takers, and access to special equipment to support your learning journey.

The goal of Disability Support Services is to work as an advocate for you. That means assisting students with disabilities in becoming more independent and improving their academic and employment success through internal services provided by WCCCD and external services such as mental health groups, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, and Michigan Commission for the Blind.

To obtain the help of Disability Support Services, you should be able to provide evidence or documentation of a physical, emotional, or prior learning disability along with completing an intake form.

Support Services Offered

In addition to the support services that are available to other students, students in the Disability Support Services Program have the following services available:

  • Workshops
  • Note takers
  • Interpreters
  • Adaptive equipment

Program participants are also assisted with referrals to both internal and external support services.
