Motorcycle Safety Program

Basic Rider Course – Web Enhanced

Requirements:

  • You must have a valid email address on file with the College.
  • Complete the online eCourse before your class start date.
  • Bring the completion certificate to your first class session.

eCourse Access:
The link to the eCourse will be emailed to you at least 1 week before your class starts. If you haven’t received it by then, please contact our office.

Course Overview:

  • Total Duration: Approximately 18 hours
    • Online Preparation: 3 hours (to be completed before class)
    • Classroom Instruction: 5 hours
    • Hands-On Training: 10 hours

This course is designed for individuals with minimal motorcycle experience. You'll learn essential riding skills, including:

  • Clutch and throttle coordination
  • Straight-line riding
  • Braking and turning
  • Shifting

Upon successful completion, including passing the knowledge and skills tests, you will receive a riding test waiver from the Secretary of State.

Course Formats:
Available in various formats:

  • One weekend
  • One weekday
  • One weeknight

Prerequisite:
Ability to ride a bicycle.


Basic Rider Course - Traditional

Course Overview:

  • Total Duration: Approximately 20 hours
    • Classroom Instruction: 10 hours
    • Hands-On Training: 10 hours

This course is also tailored for individuals with minimal motorcycle experience, focusing on the same basic riding skills as the Web Enhanced course. Successful completion will similarly grant a riding test waiver from the Secretary of State.

Prerequisite:
Ability to ride a bicycle.
