F4F/Reconnect/Community College Guarantee and Pell Grant

Suppose a student is eligible for a Pell Grant and an F4F/Reconnect or CCLD scholarship. In that case, F4F/Reconnect/CCLD will equal the difference between In-district tuition/mandatory fees and the Pell Grant.  If a student’s Pell Grant covers all In-district tuition and mandatory fees, F4F/Reconnect/CCLD will not be awarded. In this case, F4F/Reconnect student enrollment is reported to the state to satisfy the continuous enrollment requirement.  Please note: other tuition-restricted funds may also affect the F4F/Reconnect/CCLD scholarship award.

F4F/Reconnect Leave of Absence

Students participating in F4F/Reconnect for at least one semester who cannot maintain continuous enrollment due to hardship may continue to utilize their scholarship for the duration of their four-year program time limit without losing eligibility.  This allowance is called the F4F/Reconnect Leave of Absence.

PLEASE NOTE: All students re-admitted to the District after missing two years will be responsible for the curricula and regulations published in the current Catalog and other official publications that are in effect at the time of their re-admission. In certain cases, dates of program admission may take precedence over dates of college admission to meet program requirements for graduation.

Process:

  • Students participating in F4F/Reconnect for at least one semester and are experiencing hardship may obtain an F4F/Reconnect Leave of Absence form from the Financial Aid page of the WCCCD website.

https://dynamicforms.ngwebsolutions.com/Submit/Start/93b4dbcf-31e4-47fd-8661-99e248af8eec

Students will be charged for enrollment if classes are not dropped by the 100% drop date.  Leave of Absence request does not absolve responsibility of charges for enrollment.

  • Leave of Absence requests received after the 100% drop date of the semester will result in the student being financially responsible for that semester’s tuition and fees.
  • Once a Leave of Absence form has been approved, a financial aid administrator will update the student’s account on MISSG within 7-10 business days.
  • Students that submit an F4F/Reconnect Leave of Absence will receive notification of the status of their request through their WCCCD email that the Leave of Absence has been processed, and their account has been updated in MISSG.
  • Students with an approved F4F/Reconnect Leave of Absence that decide to end their leave early must notify District Financial Aid by email at financialaid@wcccd.edu
