Computer Information Systems: Network Administrator

The Computer Information Systems Network Administrator College Certificate is designed to provide a solid foundation in the fundamental skills required to analyze system requirements and design solutions or to support and manage the application of technology resources. The Network Administrator concentration prepares students as network systems administrators who can design, install, and support an organization's LAN (local-area network), network segment, internet, or intranet system. Network systems administrators provide on-site administrative support for software users in various work environments, including professional offices, small businesses, government, and large corporations.

What Do Network Administrators Do?

Network and computer systems administrators are responsible for the day- to-day operation of an organization’s computer networks. They organize, install, and support an organization’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems.

Where Do They Work?

Network and computer systems administrators work with the physical computer networks of a variety of organizations and, therefore, are employed in many industries.
