Bookkeeping

The Bookkeeping Short-Term Certificate program at Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) provides students with the skills to manage financial records and business transactions across various industries. This two-semester program is ideal for those interested in accounting, finance, or management.

It covers essential topics such as math, finance, and accounting principles while incorporating training in accounting software—an increasingly important tool as the industry shifts toward automation. As technology advances, bookkeepers will play a more significant role in analyzing financial data and identifying areas for improvement, making this program a great way to prepare for a dynamic and evolving field.

The curriculum includes hands-on experience recording financial transactions, updating statements, maintaining ledgers, and using accounting systems. Students will also learn to analyze and present financial data, preparing them for entry-level bookkeeping roles in various business settings.
