With an associate's Degree in Accounting, you may work in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, auditing, and payroll positions.  In these roles, you will typically work with financial transactions, update statements, and check financial records for accuracy. The AAS in Accounting will allow you to jump-start your career and set you on a path to broader positions in Business and Management.

You must be familiar with one or more common financial/accounting programs as an accountant. With the movement to automate accounting duties through software tools, this shift to technology will also require workers to focus on analyzing books and advising clients.

With an Accounting Certificate, you will work under a manager and assist with accounts payable/receivables, journal entries, correspondence, and many other duties related to a business's financial operation. It’s a great way to test the waters in accounting, a valuable skill in most jobs and daily, with minimal time invested.

What’s the Job Outlook for Accountants/Bookkeepers/Auditors?

The number of bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks is expected to decline by 6% from 2022 to 2032. Despite this decline, numerous job openings will still occur each year due to the need to replace workers who retire or leave their occupations.
