Welding Technology - Artistic
The Artistic Welding College Certificate program is designed to train individuals to use welding to create works of art. The individuals will learn the design, theory, and use of welding equipment, safe welding practices, and how to incorporate art into this traditionally industrial field.
As we watch the economic conditions and employment settings change, we see that more and more employers continue to ask for individuals with diverse skills. Additionally, increased numbers of people choose to be entrepreneurial and need a diverse skill set to sustain their economic needs.
Our welding and artistic welding courses allow individuals to become entrepreneurial while adding diversity to their experience base. This program is great because it offers many opportunities for people to earn a sustainable living wage by doing something they enjoy.
What Do Welders Do?
Welding is the most common way of permanently joining metal parts. Heat is applied to metal pieces in this process, melting and fusing them to form a permanent bond. Because of its strength, welding is used in shipbuilding, automobile manufacturing and repair, aerospace applications, and thousands of other manufacturing activities. It is also used to join beams in the construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures and to join pipes in pipelines, power plants, and refineries.
Where Do They Work?
Welders work in various industries and settings, from car racing to manufacturing. The work they do and the equipment they use vary depending on the industry.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the outlook for Welders, Cutters, and Brazers is projected to show little or no change from 2022 to 2032, with about 42,600 job openings expected annually.
